What Prosci’s latest AI research means for change managers

Prosci just released findings from one of the most comprehensive studies on enterprise AI adoption to date — 1,107 participants across executives, team leaders, and frontline workers.

The headline? 98% of organizations find AI valuable. 94% say it’s easy to use.

Prosci identified four conditions that consistently differentiate successful AI adoptions:

1. Leadership and bold AI vision Organizations taking large, transformative approaches to AI significantly outperform those taking cautious, incremental steps. Small steps during a transformational shift aren’t safe — they’re a liability.

2. Change management excellence The technology is rarely the problem. How organizations manage the human side of the transformation is what determines whether AI actually lands. That means structured change management, adaptive governance, and actively encouraging experimentation at every level.

3. Transparency and trust Executive trust in AI sits at +1.09. Frontline worker trust? +0.33. That gap doesn’t close on its own — it requires deliberate communication, role-specific engagement, and visible progress.

4. Democratized AI expertise The organizations winning at AI adoption aren’t concentrating knowledge at the top. They’re spreading it broadly, building role-specific capability, and creating support systems that help people actually use what’s been rolled out.
