Why ChangePlan exists

ChangePlan has its roots in an organization called Change Activation, begun by our founder Gavin Wedell, in the UK over 15 years ago. That business was all about creating awareness of the need for managing change well.
In addition to offering paid training packages, we supported the community with free posters that have been downloaded over 750,000 times, and are now available in 14 languages. Incredibly, Gavin’s hand drawn ‘What is Change Management?’ video (created largely in a cafe in Sydney, Australia) has been viewed over one million times.
A platform for change
The inspiration to create a digital, cloud based platform for change began in 2018. We’d been contacted by multiple change teams, curious if there was a way to coordinate and report across multitudes of change initiatives underway across their complex organizations.
If project managers, sales teams and customer success teams all got their own software platforms, why shouldn’t change managers. After almost two years of consultation, planning, building and testing, we launched ChangePlan in 2021. We believe it’s the best way for change teams to work together. And we’re constantly working to improve it.
Who are we?
Since our launch, ChangePlan has grown both in numbers and the depth of our skills sets.
We’re an international team of over 15 experienced change managers, management consultants, designers and software developers who are passionate about making lives better by improving the way that change takes place in large organizations.
We’re excited everyday by being able to give change managers a bigger voice in their organizations, confident that they’re backed by meaningful insights to share with leadership.
